Welcome to the Intensive English Language Program at San Diego University for Integrative Studies!

Time and time again, we have discovered that our students enrich our lives. It is our hope that you will find the SDUIS small class size, commitment to relevant education, and community atmosphere supportive and stimulating.

This handbook is intended to be a source of information when you have questions about our programs. Please remember we are here to serve you, and that staff and faculty are available, if this little volume does not seem to have the answers you seek.

The educational philosophy of the Intensive English Language Program at SDUIS is one that encourages creative and responsible participation in a traditional classroom setting. Most of our classes include active student participation through role-playing and other expressive means; some of our courses are taught primarily in a lecture format.

We are confident that our fine Intensive English Language Program will fulfill your educational needs and interests. We pride ourselves in caring for our students in a very personal way to make your experience with us an enjoyable, motivating, and invigorating one.
